Marinate. Literally.

I went up to Gurnee Mills and to the outlet malls to see what bargains I could come away with, and I saw this concoction in the Le Gourmet Chef outlet store. Y'all need to get up on this.

Chipotle sauce. (Think BBQ sauce with a kick to it.) Now, imagine The Food Of Joy in the sauce. Imagine ribs. Chicken. Shrimp. All raised to the power of Bacon.

I'll leave that for y'all to comprehend. Me, I'm going to try this on some leg quarters and see how they turn out.

Review: Sweet swine meets sweet, sweet ice cream.

Yes, indeed. How is The Food of Joy when paired with some of the best commercially available ice cream?



I got some Breyers Cookies and Cream ice cream, one of my top five ice cream flavors, and my wife cooked up some hot, sizzling, greasy bacon. What happens when these two colossals of taste meet?



Hmmm...



Okay, not bad.
The heat of the bacon is countered nicely by the ice cream's polar temperature. The grease and lactose mix quite seamlessly in your mouth, and the tasty rind and the cookie bits mash up in tete-a-tete of extreme sweetness and porcine saltiness.

Verdict: Try it. Once. At least once, anyway. The dichotomoy in your olfactory senses are exceeded by the experience on your taste buds. Obviously not for our dear readers who are lactose-intolerant. For you, substitute another couple slices of bacon for the heaping bowl of ice cream.

Food Review - Bacon on a... Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich???

What happens when you add bacon to a lettuce and tomato sandwich? Why, you get a B.L.T. My Christ this is a good thing. I know many of you out there have probably enjoyed a sandwich in which you added a slice of tomato or a leaf of lettuce... but if you're leary of Carl Buddig cold cuts or just not a fan of liver sausage (who could ever hate Braunschweiger??), you can easily select one of nature's greatest inventions... BACON!

The best way to enjoy this B.L.T. is to have two pieces of white, italian, butter top, or potato bread... and here's the secret... toasted! Another necessary component is mayonnaise. Sweet, sweet white goo. White goo that's good for you! Now, there's a debate on how many slices of tomato to use. Hell, do what you feel like! I went with 2 moderately sliced, pieces of tomato. A simple leaf of lettuce and wholla! I have my sandwich.

"But, does it taste good with bacon?"

Why yes, Jimmy. With each bite, any that was lucky enough to have bacon in it, was pure bliss. My rating: 4 strips!
